Cruises Can Begin Sailing in July
According to reports surfacing Wednesday, the CDC has informed several cruise lines that they may begin regular commercial sailings in July–significantly earlier than the original November estimate. Simulation voyages may also be skipped so long as 98% of the crew and 95% of the passengers are fully vaccinated.
“We now see a pathway to a healthy and achievable return to service, hopefully in time for an Alaskan season” Royal Caribbean Group CEO, Richard Fain, stated. While there was a large amount of unrest in the Cruise industry‘s future, this July reopening announcement seems to have resulted in a collective sigh of relief from Cruise Lines everywhere.
